Listen, for YEARS Armys have ALWAYS found something to use as an excuse or scape-goat instead of taking the hate Jimin gets 24/7 as something SERIOUS.
2015-end of 2016: "He was asking for it 'cause he's a flirt", "He should stop getting so close to X/Y member", "Its because he cares too much about his weight", "He probably has an ED", "Its because he's so insecure", "I wish he would stop posting so much everyday so the haters would stop giving us a hard time reporting".
2017 - They blamed JIMIN with "maybe he did something wrong to piss ppl off--", "He's such a bad friend for forgetting to write his bandmate's name on a chalkboard", to justify the hate.
In 2018 - They blamed it on "Shipping wars" and their solution to the problem? "Just block & ignore them" (the blocking in question was for ANYONE who dared to defend Jimin; ANYONE with a Jimin pfp got targeted instead of the actual shippers, aka TAEKOOKERS, causing the problems).
2019 - They started blaming JIMIN again, even though JIMIN was THE ONLY MEMBER who got targeted and STALKED during their vacation (he was literally followed to EVERY country he visited with his friends, while we knew nothing about the other member's whereabouts for two and a half months).
2020-2021 - They started the "Jimin is lazy", "Jimin is useless without the group", "He's just pretending to be depressed for attention 'cause all the other members are more talented/popular--", "Its HIS fault the other members get forced to sing in high notes" (after it was known Pdogg preferred the high notes in songs because it makes them sound better and only Jimin could sing them)
Early 2022 when he released his first collab outside the group - "We're not gonna support his collab", "He should've collabed with one of the members instead", "See? Even they didn't support it.", "He ruined his only chance to debut solo--"
2022, Post-group-hiatus-announcement: "Jimin is lazy", "Jimin is jobless", "No one wants to work with him", "Jimin will never survive as a soloist, he depends too much on the group", "Its not like he cares about making music".
2023, PJMS had ENOUGH and started fighting back instead of staying quiet: "Jimin solos are to blame", "Jimin solos are the worst", "We don't take solos serious" (even though their biggest "ot7" fanbases ARE run by SOLOS & Jimin antis themselves.)
And its not just on the i-side, its also happening on the k-side as well. Ya'll saw it happen in real time last year when the big Korean Army "ot7" fanbases (like ARMY52Hertz, who we now know is run by a HYBE employee who despises Jimin) EXCLUDED Jimin from all votings so that ONLY JK got most of the awards and everytime i-fans tried to warn K-armys we were told "You know nothing about our country rules" (Translation: "Korean fans only follow ONE big "official" fanbase and do absolutely EVERYTHING they say without questioning otherwise they will be "kicked out") and only came to their senses when it was too late and the whole Kpop fandom were laughing at them.
Its a never ending cycle, I was THERE on every single era, I saw every single snicker and back-handed comment thrown at him from the very fandom that claims to "love him more than anyone". Because they ONLY pretend to love him when he's being a cheerleader to another member, or when he thanks "Armys" in general. But otherwise they wouldn't give a shit about him. Not as an individual. They only care about his validation and acknowledgement of the BRAND-name "Army".
Its why they HATE the idea of him having fans outside of the group; fans who SEE HIM as an individual and TALENTED Solo-Artist; fans willing to support and fight to defend HIM till the end. Why they need to correct and insert the other members under every single media article, youtube reaction or post praising JIMIN ONLY. Because to most brainwashed Armys the ONLY talented dancer is Jhope, the ONLY good singer is JK, the ONLY good looking member is V or Jin, the ONLY talented writers/composers are the RL. Because its what they've GASLIGHTED EACH OTHER TO BELIEVE.
To them Jimin is just "the cute, sexy member" who's also an Angel because he cares about THEIR FAVORITE MEMBER.
Its also why they are quick to attack anyone who self-proclaims to be HIS fan (Jimin stan, PJMs, Jimin solo, ect), but never want to become part of "Army". Because outsiders can easily see how fucked up the BTS fandom really IS and HAS BEEN in the past couple of years and why they've earned the name and reputation as
"The Most Toxic Fandom in Kpop".
#I said what I said#jimin deserves better#a better fandom#a better company/label#a better everything#a better life where he can do whatever the FUCK HE WANTS

What Is Like Crazy About?
Since the day "Like Crazy" was released, I wanted to post about it, but couldn't get the time to focus and do a comprehensive analysis. Finally, right before the first anniversary of this masterpiece, I got the time, and the post is ready now. Before starting off, I have to remind you of the fact that a work of art can be interpreted in many different ways, and none of those interpretations are necessarily right or wrong. Every work of art contains a message that is the artist’s main intention from that creation, but the artist doesn’t have to explain it to the audience because a true work of art speaks for itself, even though not all audiences can receive it thoroughly.
I know that in the past year, so many different types of analyses and theories were made by fans to explain this song, and most definitely, I couldn’t keep up with all of them. Therefore, I’m not claiming my analysis to be a breakthrough, and you might have read most parts of it somewhere else. In this post, we are going to discuss “Like Crazy” from a lyrical and conceptual point of view, trying to find out what message or messages Jimin wanted to convey by creating it.
About “Like Crazy”
“Like Crazy” as the title track for Jimin's first solo album, "FACE", stole the hearts of millions of fans and locals around the world, and inarguably became one of the most successful pop songs of the year 2023. I can talk for hours about how beautiful and successful “Like Crazy” is, and how it broke KPop boundaries and countless records. But, in this post, we are going to break to the surface and talk about the meanings and motivations behind this song and answer the questions like “How this song was made?” “What was Jimin's intention in writing these romantic lyrics?”
As I mentioned earlier, artists usually don’t directly address their main message and their intention in creating a form of art, but many of them speak about the motivations and inspirations that led them to the creation. Jimin hasn’t talked much about the sources of inspiration behind individual tracks of “FACE”, but I guess “Like Crazy” was an exception for him because he revealed on several occasions that he was inspired by “Like Crazy”, the movie. And this piece of information is the key to our analysis:
"I tried to express the feelings of that movie. You know, the somewhat complex, somewhat lonely, somewhat happy emotions. I tried to express all these ambiguous and subtle emotions in a slightly sexy way, but I’m not sure how it’ll end up being received by people.”
Like Crazy, The Movie
First of all, we need to keep in mind that “Like Crazy” is a completely original song, and Jimin has not used or sampled any songs, lines, or dialogues from the movie in his lyrical or visual concepts (even the intro and outro dialogues in the song were original and not from the movie). If Jimin had not stated his source of inspiration directly, the only hint that could have led us to it would be the title of the song, which duplicates the title of the movie since the title never appears in the lyrics.
So, Jimin chose this specific name for his song and announced his source of inspiration to make it clear that there is a straight and strong connection between the song and the movie. He made it clear that this connection is 100% conceptual and emotional, and if we want to know what “Like Crazy” is about, and what ambiguous and subtle feelings Jimin is talking about, we have to redirect the analysis to the concept of the movie, “Like Crazy”.
As we all know, “Like Crazy” is a romantic movie, and Drake Doremus directed it casting "Felicity Jones" and the late "Anton Yelchin" as the main characters, Anna and Jacob. Doremus based the storyline of this low-budget movie on his experience being in a long-distance relationship with his partner and developed it into a 90-minute-long movie, which was released in 2011 and became relatively successful.
Anna and Jacob
A few days before the release of “FACE”, I was informed that the title track, “Like Crazy” is based on a movie of the same name. After learning this fact, I had to re-watch it because I couldn’t remember anything after a decade, and I had some questions like: “What was in this movie that made it so special for Jimin?” “How would Jimin feel watching this?”. Having this mindset helped me to see the movie differently, but before explaining those new insights we need a short storyline of the movie:
Anna is a British exchange student in LA, where she falls in love with Jacob, an American student, and they start dating. Anna, blinded by her love for Jacob, overstays her student visa and consequently gets banned from re-entering the United States. After experiencing a forced LDR, Jacob flies to London to visit Anna, and her father suggests that getting married might resolve the issue, but they are not ready for this big step. Jacob goes back to LA and basically chooses his job over Anna, but after some time, they realize that they can’t be apart, and they decide to get married. Six months after the marriage, when the time for the appeal of Anna’s ban comes, it gets rejected, and they lose their last hope of being together. Again, they go back to their sad lives, but after some time, Anna is finally offered a visa, and she leaves everything behind to reunite with Jacob. The ending scene shows how this separation has damaged their relationship, and things will never be the same.
The movie portrays the hardships of a long-distance relationship and the damage the separation can do to two souls and their connection. I think the recent movie by "Celine Song" named "Past Lives" was partially similar to like crazy, but also there was a big difference; unlike Nora and Haesung in “Past Lives”, Anna and Jacob don’t leave it to fate, they don’t forget about each other and don’t settle down with others just because their love seemed difficult or impossible.
They found true happiness only next to each other and did everything against all odds (especially Anna) to take that back. Maybe if Anna and Jacob weren’t in love like crazy and were more mature and realistic, they would end up like Nora and Haesung (Sorry if this spoiled that movie for you), but they didn’t and made their own bittersweet ending.
Many people claim that “Like Crazy” is a breakup movie with a sad ending, therefore, Jimin’s song also must be a breakup song. But, first of all, the ending can somehow be considered an open ending. We don’t know what happens after the shower scene, but we see them together, in each other’s arms, and this is not a totally sad ending by any movie standards. Other than that, Anna and Jacob became separated a few times, but they don't officially break up by choice, their separation is the result of contractual rules and laws, made by society.
This movie, as its director explained, might be originally about a long-distance relationship, but also the main relationship in this movie can be seen as a relationship that gets strained by laws and regulations, it’s about the rules and imaginary borders that decide if two people can be together or ban them from it. It’s a story of the “love against law”.
A Heterosexual Love Story?
When “Like Crazy” was released in theatres back in 2011, it got positive reviews for good acting that made the movie feel sweet and intimate with mostly improvised dialogues. Meanwhile, the negative reviews were focused on the plotline of this drama, calling it far from reality. Other than the fact that Jacob could have easily resolved this issue by taking his job from LA to London, in reality, the couple wouldn’t have faced this much difficulty over the legal complications, especially after getting married.
The fact is, straight couples usually never face this kind of hardship, and governments take that easy on them otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many sham marriages around the world just to get citizenship. So, the idea of a couple getting separated by law is not common, and that’s why many people called this movie implausible. But, a queer person can familiarly receive this implausibility, like when they want to be with someone forever, but the laws don’t let them.
Could it be this feeling that made “Like Crazy” special and a source of inspiration for Jimin? Or was it something smaller like the Santa Monica beach scene? I have no answer, I only make theories, and I think it’s better to leave the movie here and start the lyrical interpretation to see how these words and feelings can get connected.
The Lyrics
[Intro]
(I think we could last forever (I'm afraid that everything will disappear Just trust me)
As I said earlier, this intro is not a dialogue from the movie, but the narrators were told to do it based on the audio from the movie that was sent to them. So, hypothetically, it’s Anna and Jacob having this conversation. He is afraid of losing everything, but Anna assures him that if he trusts her, they can last forever. In the MV, we see Jimin standing in the crowd, but the time goes in reverse, and through a transition into his eyes, we see him sitting alone. Weirdly, the outro of the song is playing in the background here, but we will figure out the reason later.
[Verse 1]
Korean Version, Translated
She's saying Baby, don't think about it There's not a bad thing here tonight Baby, it's fine if you leave Stay with me, just for today
English Version
She's saying, Baby, come and follow me There's not a bad thing here tonight Save your reasons all for later Stay with me a little while
Anna asks him to follow her and assures him that everything is fine, it’s fine if this is not going to last long. It’s not the time for reason and overthinking. The gendered pronoun here refers to Anna, but we will know more about her in the next verses. It is worth mentioning that in the primary handwritten lyrics by Jimin, there was no “She” and it was modified later considering the dialogues added to the intro. Anyway, we know Jimin didn’t release these drafts in his album for no reason.
In this part of the MV, we see Jimin sitting alone in a room, and with a flicker of lights, the room is filled with mud. Suddenly, a muddy hand of a girl grabs Jimin’s hand and leads him to a party. There are several symbols in this part, the lonely room is Jimin’s reality, and the party is his dream. The mud symbolizes dreams and desires that leave their trace on your life and soul.
[Verse 2]
Korean Version, Translated
Watch me go Drenching myself all night (Away) So that even the morning Gets drunk and doesn't arrive
English Version
Watch me go Now, I sink down, all alone away Where am I? A dark haze clouding up my eyes
From here, we don’t see the girl because Jimin and the girl became one. She was her reflection from the beginning, the side that leads him out of his loneliness, and allures him to his dreams and desires, tempts him to be careless and stop thinking too much. Some say she is Jimin’s Anima, but these lyrics never go to the deep levels of the subconscious to reach the Anima. She is his feminine side that is a tangible side of him, and Jimin’s asymmetric makeup gives it away. Also, the mirrored moves between Jimin and the female dancer in “Like Crazy’s” choreography made it clear that the feminine presence in this song is Jimin’s reflection.
[Pre-Chorus]
Korean Version, Translated
As the loud music I get faded out A cliché story like a drama I get used to it Have I come too far to find the me that you used to know Yeah, I know You know I know (Ooh)
English Version
I can hear the voices listening Don't know who they are Trying to take the pressure off Been reaching for the stars Tell me, will I find myself again? When I go too far? Yeah, I know You know, I know (Ooh)
Jimin enters the party and starts drinking, dancing, and having fun with the others. He laughs and enjoys himself in the crowd and trusts the supposed strangers, but the confusion doesn’t leave him alone. He feels lost, and as the lyrics say, he is worried about going too far and not finding himself again. The two opposite sides of him are conflicting. It’s the contradiction between "fear and desire", between "pain and numbness", between "loneliness and losing yourself", and between "reason and dream" that leaves him confused.
[Chorus and Post Chorus]
Korean Version, Translated
I'd rather be Lost in the lights, Lost in the lights I'm outta my mind Hold onto the end of the night Every night You spin me up high The moon with you in its arms Let me have a taste Give me a good ride (Oh, I'm fallin', I'm fallin', I'm fallin') Oh, it's gon' be a good night (Oh, I'm fallin') Forever, you and I
English Version
I'd rather be Lost in the lights, lost in the lights I'm outta my mind Can you help me numb the pain? Each night, you spin me up high Emotions on ice Let me have a taste Give me a good ride (Oh, I'm fallin', I'm fallin', I'm fallin') Oh, it's gon' be a good night (Oh, I'm fallin') Forever, you and I
In this part, he confesses which side he really wants to follow. He wants to go out of his mind, lose himself to the desire, and leave the reason behind. It’s the escapism that saves him from loneliness and the pain of real life. The chorus is the sexy and at the same time, the most poetic part of this song, especially where he is spinning up high in the arms of the moon.
The last line of the post-chorus, “Forever you and I” which also repeats in the last part of the interlude, is crucial because it declares that Jimin is not talking about vagrancy or promiscuity. He wants it all with his significant other, the only one who can help him numb the pain of real life and escape it. But this escapism has its consequences, and we see all that mud flush out of every corner symbolizing it. This scene artistically ends with Jimin facing his reflection in the crowd. The question is, is this reflection the same significant other, or is it Jimin himself? We will get the answer in the next part.
[Verse 3]
Korean Version, Translated
The me, reflected in the mirror Is going crazy endlessly I'm feelin' so alive, wasting time
English Version
All my reflections, I Can't even recognize I'm feelin' so alive, wasting time
His fear of losing himself was true, and it's happening now. This duality confuses him and makes him question his reality. Which side is the true Jimin? He doesn't care anymore because this escapism makes him feel alive.
Here in the MV, we see Jimin facing the reflection, and it immediately cuts to the restroom scene where he faces his literal reflection in the mirror and talks to him about not recognizing him anymore. Then, the restroom being dismantled symbolizes his state of mind. "The reflection of myself in an unfamiliar appearance" was the concept of "his "FACE" which was a whole album about Jimin himself.
[Outro]
This will break me This is gonna break me (Break me) No, don't you wake me (Wake me) I wanna stay in this dream, don't save me Don't you try to save me (Save me) I need a way we (Way we) I need a way we can dream on (On, on, on) (Alone again What's the point?)
Jimin knows the consequences of losing himself but embraces it. He knows it's gonna break him but doesn't want to wake up from his dream. He knows everything will collapse but doesn't need a savior. He wants to stay in that dream, but he knows it's impossible, and sooner or later, he will be dragged out of it.
Is there a way to cut all the connections to the real world of loneliness and stay in this dream forever? We get the answer in the MV, and it's not positive because suddenly, everything goes backward in speed, to where we started (remember the outro being played in the beginning? That was the clue).
He goes back to his lonely room with a muddy hand. Did his hand get dirty from a touch of his reflection, or was the muddy hand in the beginning his own hand? Is he trapped in a loop? Maybe. Maybe this wasn't his first or the last time coming back from that dreamland, and it was the reason for so much mud accumulated in his room. He is a regular in that dreamland and he can't quit.
Conclusion
It's understandable if this analysis of the movie, lyrics, and the MV didn't guide you in any direction, and maybe you are even more confused after reading it all. But don't blame yourself because Jimin already told us that, his emotions for this movie are complex. So, don't look for just one answer, maybe we are not supposed to end up with one conclusion, and this song also can have multiple interpretations and meanings. But what are these meanings?
If you pay attention to the lyrics and the MV you will realize that despite them being aligned and in sync, the lyrics have more connection to the movie. While filming the MV, Jimin mentioned that things (scenes of the MV) didn't happen like this in real life, which was an obvious fact, because this song is clearly not about being the life of the party and stuff like that, and has more internal meanings.
In "Like Crazy", Jimin talks about the loneliness of his real life, the isolation and limitations he experienced during the pandemic, and maybe other times. But Jimin finds an alternate reality, where he can be himself, be free and careless, and forget about the future. This alternate reality is rooted in two possibilities: The feminine side, and the significant other. The feminine side is what we face in the MV, and there are not many signs of it in the lyrics.
The feminine side appears as a muddy hand and a presence at the part that faces Jimin and becomes one with him as his reflection. The idea of "bigender" is nothing new in the concepts that Jimin has offered on different occasions, from his fake tattoos in ARMY-Zip 2019 to the performance of "Filter" in 2020 and his photopholio in 2022, he has expressed this fluidity in his work, and I think the visual concept of "Like Crazy" with his different makeup in the MV and the choreography was the epitome of it.
What about the significant other? As I mentioned in the analysis of chorus parts, "Forever You and I" Can only be interpreted as his exclusiveness to someone who is his significant other. This person is the one who saves Jimin from his loneliness and assures him about their happy ending. This person has no doubt in them lasting forever and only wants Jimin to trust him to take the lead and let that happen.
He keeps saying to his significant other that there is no future. They can't be together forever, this is just a temporary situation, and despite finding comfort in each other, they should not get attached because they will forced to be separated. It's not like Jimin doesn't believe in this love, he does and has the same wishes and dreams, but he keeps getting dragged to the real world where the rules govern.
This part is just a personal opinion as a Jikooker, but I did this analysis in my head last year when "Like Crazy" was newly released and had no intention of making a connection between this and Jikook, until "Seven" came out. We all know JK had no hand in making the sexy lyrics of "Seven", but after watching the MV (which had nothing to do with the lyrics), I couldn't unsee the fact that the concept of Seven's MV looked so much like a response to "Like Crazy's" lyrics. Still, we don't know if JK gave any ideas for the concept of the MV, but considering his record of working as an MV director, it's not impossible.
The End.
This is all I could say about "Like Crazy", a masterpiece that is still thriving in the charts and still touches people's hearts because it comes from real and deep emotions that Jimin had in his heart. That emotion got us the moment we listened to it for the first time, even though verbalizing it, is never easy, no matter how many analyses and reviews we write.

The arguments on twitter are so crazy because end of day Jimin is achieving the same streams and records as your fave without paying for them AND he could have a concert tour and actually fill up stadiums. Like you know that's the end goal for artists right? Auto play is all well and good but that's why you'll see a song on the charts all the time and then find the artists not able to sell out tickets for their tours. Neither Lisa nor Jennie nor Rose nor most kpop groups honestly would be able to tour solo and sell as well as Jimin touring by himself. So doesn't that defeat the whole bot argument? Bots literally mean you don't have the people to stream so you need to buy it. For jimin it's more like your fans are dedicated streamers. That's a huge difference. Jjks and blinks are basically calling us bots which isn't how it works but who's going to explain it to them? Not me
I'd say Jimin has only two things to achieve if he really wants (apart from sustaining his current level of success). One is to be a household name. He's already very famous but he doesn't have the name id that BTS has. But if you're not going to pay for it, then it takes time - a couple of years at least and you can't be in the military for half of it. You also have to play the game. BTS as a group did tons of western promo and social media for a solid 4-5 years I think before it happened. I'm not entirely sure what Jimin's take on this is. He didn't do it for Face but he was on a time crunch in 2023 trying to release 1 ep and getting the other ready and doing a travel show and getting ready for enlistment so maybe we'll see him do it for his next release if that's something he's interested in. The second is being critically acclaimed. This will be tough since even BTS didn't achieve that distinction because of the baggage that kpop comes with plus the truth is you need to schmooze with critics and the rest to get that hype and it's hard with the language barrier.

Yep, its time for...
The Weekly Bangtan Report. It will be a short one.
Hobi and Hope on the Streets (HOTS)!!!
So there are these QR codes showing up all over Seoul:
One enterprising investigator Army visited one of the locations and was told by the cafe owner that yep, they were contacted and told a pop-up event would happen this month!
And I keep forgetting, we're not only getting a mini album of songs but we're getting a documentary series at the end of the month!
youtube
Hobi looks so happy in this and I can't wait to watch!
Ok, moving on...
For a minute there, SimInvest had us going, am I right?
The tease was "V's bestest friend who's name begins with a "J" will be joining him." This was their website:
Cue the solos, mantis and anyone else being stupid... and it ends up being Jackie Chan!
Not Jimin, not Jungkook. Sorry Vmin-ers and cultists.
But can I tell you I fell off the couch laughing my ass off?
youtube
WHO WOULDA THUNK THAT JACKIE CHAN IS TAE'S BESTIE????
Not I.
I know, they are probably besties only for this promotion but whatever. It's funny as shit.
I had always thought Tae's deal with this investment company was an interesting choice for him. This company's target market would skew to older males who have money to invest. It is also based in Indonesia. With Tae involved, he might attract a younger demographic as well as female clientele.
When I first learned of this partnership it made me strongly believe he is creating an awareness in this demographic for the purpose of already being a familiar name when he returns from MS and starts doing TV drama acting gigs. That's my best guess. I dont' know though, the fact it is based in Indonesia ... anyway.
Next up: Jungkookie! makes a brief appearance in The Kid Laroi's documentary... which of course probably means The Kid will be in JK's documentary along with everyone else JK's worked with since 2022 or 2023.
And Namjoon actually being in the military band has been more or less confirmed by him because of the pic he posted on his Instagram stories of he and his fellow soldiers. He tagged them and if you look at their accounts, they are indeed involved in the military band. I need Joon to explain to us what other music instruments he can play.
In other news, Lee Soo Man, former CEO of SM Entertainment has stated he will or has sold his remaining SM stock to Hybe giving Hybe an over 12.5% stake in SM Entertainment. That reality K-drama is ongoing.
All that other total motherfuckery going on at the former bird app can just die and go to hell including that bogus top 100 kpop artists ranking from Billoboard.
I will leave you with this closing thought:
#i actually feel like this is the break i expected during hiatus#but maybe its really the calm before the (happy) storm#hobi#j-hope#taehyung#hope on the street#jungkook#namjoon#honey there is no next bts just give up already#what if its a teaser and Tae and Jackie are gonna do a movie?

BTS as k-dramas 𖡄̽ݴ᭄ᭂ ⠀
jungkook: dream high
this drama got me into Korea in its all and into Kpop as well. it's so close to my heart I can't help but put it with my favorite Korean boy. the Kirin art school's students have a dream, and they grow up learning to become stars, ultimately succeeding, just like jungkook did.
jin: business proposal
the main character is exactly how I imagine jin in a relationship to be like. a stoic, successful, kinda naive man who warms up and becomes devoted as soon as he sets his eyes on someone. and the rest his history.
taehyung: nevertheless
i imagine taehyung loving this drama. its complicated explanation on love reflects all the flaws of the human spirit and portraits love as chaos in a life full of art.
jimin: true beauty
jimin's just like Lee Soo Ho would like someone regardless of his flaws. I always imagines jimin as a kind and careful soul who cares about people's feelings and emphatazies with them. I imagine jimin to like light, fun and cute dramas and this is it.
namjoon: what's wrong with secretary Kim?
namjoon gives me the impression of being a controlled and calm person, but just like young-joon he loses his composure when he likes someone and gets tested by a potential lover. I feel like he'd be as funny as the main character when he finds a partner who challenges him and, frequently, beats him at his own game.
yoongi: descendants of the sun
if I ever imagine yoongi liking someone, I imagine him playing it cool. no drama, no embarassment, simply a cool strong man who admits he fell in love. in descendants of the sun life gets in the way of love one too many time and I imagine for yoongi too life sometimes is pretty heavy to carry around without getting crushed.
hosoek: strong woman do bong soon
I thought hoseok belonged in an historical drama, but I see him as well as the ceo of a company who meets a strange girl who ends up being his bodyguard and lover. he's as funny as MinMin and he gives me Labrador boyfriend vibes.

Tae is traveling to US tomorrow (confirmed) and JK will be in the US on 28th so yeah again jokers being proven wrong. Taekook will be together like the happy couple they are and spending their time together bfo MS. Jimin will be back in Korea after filming a company contact. At the end of the day you guys will always get peanuts as we enjoy the whole buffet. Stay strong
Jimin will be back in Korea.... but where is he now???
THATS RIGHT WITH HIS MAN WHILE YOUR SHIP CO PILOT IS IN KOREA cutting his hair tryna look good for his Jennie.
If I were you I wouldn't worry much about when they will be in the same location- if ever they will. I'd be concerned what they do with other people when they aren't by chance on the same continent🤣
"Let's have faith. They might be on the same continent soon. Let's pretend this is not happening. Let's pretend he's not out there in the cold with another man. Jimin had his turn. Tae's turn coming"
Well since they on rotation for dick, I'm just gonna go ahead and claim Monday through to Sunday for my client, Tae can have him like never in a week and on in- your-wildest-dreams when JM is done taking strokes😙
If you act nice, I'll let Jk have drinks on Thursday afternoons with him- don't worry Jimin will not be home ill make sure of it🙂
Your Jk cheating on his bf with Jimin trope must wear you out by now cos forget side chick- This is an overthrow. Find several seats in the back for Tae. He deserves better than this.
Company Contract- cognitive dissonance is a bitch huh.
The beauty of becoming the most successful Solo Kpop artists in 2023 is.... they've built enough leverage to walk away from productions they don't want to participate in. Also, they are a Solo artists. They don't need to film content with anyone they don't want to for nothing. Do you even understand what SOLO artist means??
If Tae Kook did any of the things these two do out here, I wouldn't even ship Jikook. I'd be a Tuktukkers. Yall lots are nuts. Go lick your wounds somewhere else.

Smutober Day 27 ~ Outdoor Sex ~ Park Jimin [M]
WORD COUNT: 0.6K
PAIRING: Jimin x Fem!Reader
GENRE: established relationships, minors DNI, outdoor sex, sex in the car/on the car, unprotected sex, wrap it before you tap it,
⤜Copyright: © DreamEscapesWriting - Smutober 2023
⤜MASTERLIST
Your hands were pressed against the red bonnet of your boyfriend's car as you let out a loud whine. Jimin's hips smashed into yours as the sound of skin hitting skin filled the air, his cock twitching whenever he caught sight of himself entering you.
There was nothing around for miles, well the only thing that was close to you was a busy main road but thanks to it being so late in the afternoon not many people were driving around and yet the excitement of maybe getting caught drove you insane and made you wetter. The two of you had gone for a drive, only to end up lost and pulled over at the side of the road to look at the maps.
One thing led to another and he was fucking you against the bonnet of his car, this shouldn't be as hot as it was but it was so hot it could have been on fire.
"Oh shit!" Your hand slammed against the bonet as you clenched around Jimin's cock tightly. A wild smirk was plastered across his lips as he watched himself pounding in and out of you roughly. Grunting and moaning whenever he hit deeper into you than before. You glanced over your shoulder and whimpered seeing him smirk at you like that,
"T-That smirk is what got us into this mess," You whine as you moan out his name louder, your head falling forward and onto the cold metal of his car. The feel of him stretching you out made your toes curl inside your shoes as you groaned loudly. The two of you had been looking for directions when he smirked at you like that, the next thing you knew, your dress was hoisted around your waist and he was fucking you over the hood of his car.
"You're so fucking sexy," He grunts as he held your hips in place, snapping his hips faster as he hit into you, pure pleasure building up inside of you your eyes flew open as you felt your orgasm building.
"I can feel you, baby, you're so close." He smirks as he gets fast with his hips. Your head was beginning to grow cloudly as you could only focus on the intensity of what he was giving to you,
"Cum all over my cock, like a good girl." He orders. Your eyes screwed shut as your whole body felt as though it was on fire and suddenly it felt as though the car was on fire too. Jimin's frenzied thrusts sent you over the edge, your walls spasming around him as you cried out his name louder.
"You like this, don't you?" He chuckled as he reached between you rubbing your already sensitive clit, your whole body shook as you wriggled a little trying to get away from the sensation that almost felt like too much.
"You want to get caught, letting someone see me fuck your pussy so hard you're screaming for me," He bites down on your neck, rubbing harder. That was all it took for you to be sent over the edge as you clenched tightly around your boyfriend's cock, your hands slamming against the hood of his car as you came around him,
"YES! YES!" You screamed out as you came around him, your legs buckling a little as he continued to fuck into you roughly chasing his own high before releasing inside of you.
You stood there trying to collect yourself for a few seconds, Jimin's dick still buried inside of you as he let out a small chuckle at the sight of you below him.
"Get dressed, I'll drive us home." He whispered, bending down and leaving a small kiss on your shoulder as you whined at him pulling out of you.

Chameleon Park Jimin 8
My Chameleon Park Jimin (PJM) Series (<link) [Parts 1-7] discusses the emotional, physical, & professional growth, adjustments, and changes Jimin has endured and experienced during his BTS journey, as I see it.
Last Portion of 2023
By this time most BTS solo projects had been presented and enlistment for the remaining members was quickly approaching. After Suga, V released his solo album and did promotions. After dropping a few singles, it was now Jung KooK’s (JK) turn to release his solo album. His would be the final solo album debut of the year, before the remaining 4 enlisted.
As JK's promotions began, he traveled to New York (NY) for his first performance. So, in JM's usual supportive fashion, the following day he flew to NY to support JK. Little did fans know that they were also filming a 2-member travel show, starting in NY, which would be material that would also be released during the military hiatus.
As the different filming locations occurred, Jimin and Jk were seen walking through several airports, traveling openly together as they flew from destination to destination every other month. It was the first time 2 members had traveled together in this way. The travel show plan finally leaked but very little was exposed about what they were doing at each location. This was an important moment for BTS as a veteran, mature idol group.
Mature Idols
During this hiatus, the maknae (younger) line, in particular, was starting new trends and breaking down barriers that had previously been expected for idols to maintain, both through their work and in their personal actions and behaviors. The guys were not explaining but only carrying on with their professional and personal activities, helping to usher in acceptance of their next chapter of life as grown idol men rather than the younger teenagers that had begun more than a decade ago.
Most other idol groups disband before this stage is reached. BTS is at the height of their career and is still a successful, impactful group as they continue in this field as adults.
There will always be some shock and dismay over some of the choices the members make and will be making, but as always, BTS is paving the way. No other group had to plan a military pause at the peak of their career. No other group had ever planned such an elaborate package of material to be used in their absence, and no other group had to establish new standards and expectations of their being adults, and having normal adult lives, while still being active idols. BTS is, as always, doing it like no one has ever seen. The achievements of every members’ solo projects has been astounding up to this point and there was more to come.
When I say presently, that as 2025 has just begun, the entire hiatus was as if BTS was still present and active in the music environment, and I mean it 100 fold. For the 2024 year-end chart totals and awards, BTS still dominated. Unfortunately, much of the KPop community, that resisted them from the start, is hugely disappointed that they were not able to figure out how to capitalize on BTS’s absence in the way they had hoped. As in the past, when faced with an obstacle, BTS just created a new lane in which to excel.
Back to 2023
It was a few months before enlistment, and Jimin began bleaching his hair again. He had dark hair for a long while and all throughout the FACE promotions. Fans weren’t sure if they’d ever see the old hair colors again, considering his new relaxed, baggier, less fancy style. His hair now went from orange to all out blonde, which was one of his more popular, flashy colors from the past. It turns out Jimin’s promotions for the 2nd album, MUSE, would include the blonde, but more current, version of Jimin.
As the time to enlist approached, Jimin began releasing #ThisIsJimin [playlist] dance clips, one dance at a time (release order: #4,2,3,5,1 (as shown below). The videos showed the progression of his hair from black to orange to blonde.
If fans had recalled the release of Jimin’s first solo album, when he had posted #JiminsDanceTime video clips as a build up to his 1st promotions, they might have anticipated another album promotion about to begin. Instead, the dance clips were building up toward the release of a solo ‘fan’ song that dropped soon after his departure. Fans were delighted at the gift, and the song performed very well. However, fans didn’t know that the song was actually a very early pre-released song from his 2nd album, which wouldn’t be released until mid-2024.
(Aside: Although the winter timing, right after enlistment, worked extremely well to comfort fans, I am curious why his fan song wasn’t used as the Festa 2024 song (June), which would have been right before his album release (July). It would have been a great album promotion too. There was a big gap between this pre-release (Dec. 2023) and his album, so fans were later surprised to see it was actually a song from his album too.)
The Analysis
The #ThisIsJimin dances showed diverse styles to different genres of music. The behind the scenes video for the dances showed a confident Jimin who danced well and enjoyed the process of contributing to the choreography, while working with others. It's possible there were reasons for the specific song choices he made for each dance. I do call him the Man of Messaging after all. 😏
Over Jimin’s entire career, we have watched him grow and evolve. He is so open that we saw the anguish and hurt, but we also got to see the growth and happiness. There was a time that Jimin wore a figurative mask. He didn’t like to be seen without makeup. He would dress sleekly for airport pictures. He didn’t like to be seen without his hair in place.
He has now arrived at a place where he seems done with wearing a societal mask of any kind. He now allows himself to be seen without makeup, with baggy, less tidy clothes and with air-dried, unstyled hair. He seems more comfortable with himself. He accepts that he is perfectly fine as he is. He still cleans up with the professionals for work, but he’s not as concerned about looking stage-ready when not on a stage.
The mask was not only removed from his physical appearance though. The travel show Jimin did with Jung Kook (Are You Sure?! [playlist]) revealed just how comfortable Jimin had become with himself, his looks, and his body. From my earlier writing, I had explained the food, weight, & body issues Jimin had developed due to the company forcing him to expose his body at a young age, which resulted in severe dieting and weight training.
Some of the public had been brutal about criticizing Jimin about any- and everything, and it understandably disturbed a young Jimin in a very weight-conscious, Korean society. While I still feel Jimin is working on that issue, he has come so far, to the point where we saw him several times in just swim shorts during the travel show. ☺️
During the travels, Jimin ate enjoyably and appreciated the experience with relaxed, happy freedom. He looked healthier in weight and appetite and appeared comfortable in his own skin. Fans got to see that the silly, playful Jimin was still there but was in a more mature, controlled version that showed during more personal, private activities.
During a behind the scenes moment and toward the end of the Are You Sure?! series, Jimin showed sincere feelings of sadness as the trip ended and enlistment was now only weeks away. He even expressed that showing those types of feelings publicly was not common for him to do. I feel he usually felt like he had to be “on” for the camera but for most of the time during the show, Jimin had let down his guard and just was. As someone who has watched Jimin and his past footage for a while now, it was a delight to see. It was as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders, in spite of the impending military service looming ahead.
Just like the masks of cloth or makeup that Jimin had removed from his appearance, and the weighted mask that had been removed from his emotions, Jimin seemed to be removing the mask from his work as well. We were being allowed to see more behind the scenes moments, while work was in progress and not yet perfectly completed, and Jimin seemed comfortable and even happy about it.
Jimin always exposed more than I felt he should emotionally, but it now feels like he is revealing things, not due to overflowing emotions or distress, but because he wants to, because he has nothing to hide, and because he is not concerned or troubled anymore about revealing himself. Due to nasty people in the public, Jimin protects his privacy more but has found a balance of being relaxed and open, while keeping his private life private - by choice and not fear.
Still, Jimin is as human as they come, and he’s still young. Life is a journey, not a destination. All of us should be continuing to mature and develop, no matter how old we are. Just as the military will provide Jimin with experiences that he can incorporate into his career and life to make them both more rich and meaningful, Jimin still has experiences and events that will happen once back in the civilian world to help him to continue to grow. So, in spite of the comments about Jimin accepting his looks and appearance, at the time of enlistment Jimin struggled with having to remove one of his main identifiable features: his thick, luxurious hair.
Jimin was known for the haircuts and hair colors that enhanced his look in person and on stage. As many of us feel about ourselves, Jimin’s hair was felt to be an extension of his being. It too was a kind of mask. He waited for the final possible moment before doing the required buzzcut. He had previously said that he wouldn’t show the fans, but late on the final day before leaving, Jimin showed up on WeLive to say “See you in a while” to fans with the dreaded buzzcut.
Wearing a hat, he looked resolved but emotional and was so very brave as he maintained his demeanor and his smile. He even eventually took off his hat - twice - and bowed to the fans before putting the hat immediately back on. That moment proved the growth and maturity that I have been explaining. Another mask had been removed. The next day at enlistment, even the hat would be gone.
That following day Jimin and Jung Kook officially enlisted together (set to mark), using Korea’s companion program. They had applied for and had chosen to enlist together and support each other throughout the 18 months of military service. This ‘buddy program’ would allow them to remain together on the same base, in the same location for the entire service. While I feel both of them would have survived without the support, I feel it is likely a great comfort and encouragement, having a good friend there at your side.
Presently, Jimin has achieved the status of Special Warrior, which is earned with “exceptional performances and intensive training”. This is not surprising since Jimin does everything to his best ability. When he safely returns, I suspect his best moments in life are truly still yet to come, whether on stage or off.
TO BE CONTINUED in final Part 9: MUSE, Mini Moni Music, the military…

A year ago today:
"Kpop will be ended by Park Jimin in 2023."
And it all started that same night with the release of the Set Me Free pt. 2 teaser:
youtube
The thirty-two second teaser came to change kpop and the music industry the moment it appeared on screen.
It is one year later and Jimin's album is still earning accolades and records. Not just in kpop but in worldwide music.

Hey shaz,
I definitely think that Jikook will be loud af when they get back from MS, or as loud as they can be. Major things will start adding up and making sense in our usual subtle (ISH) breadcrumb way.
But I suspect it'll be a new chapter for BTS, as a whole, on the relationship front. The boys are extremely successful, only getting older, and I think a lot of chapter 2 was them prepping the fandom to see them maturely as well. It's highly likely some of the guys are starting to think long-term both career-wise and family-wise (they're pretty young actually but the idol life moves FAST)
With how famous they are, though, (idols in general), it's so risky to make relationships public unless you're really serious. Read somewhere that they're pushed to keep things secret as much as possible unless it's like a marriage announcement? I'm curious, how do you think the guys will handle this? Cause they're known to break stereotypes and in a way, they could be tired of the airtight romance lock..they're not exactly teenagers sneaking around anymore
Take Taennie (or just Tae with any partner), all this time they had their reasons for keeping it on the down-low, and I suspect partially with the engagement shipping brings in for the company. But I feel like everyone's in new phase of their lives now, so idk if those reasons would still apply to push ships in 2025+ content.
Would love to hear what you think and if you guys know how older K-pop groups handled marriages and transitioning from that ''teenage/young adult, flirty image"?
I honestly believe BTS will be the ones to pave the way when it comes to normalising Idols having rlships. They start everything and others follow. I mean, watch other groups start enlisting together. Boracity did a video about how BTS paved the way
youtube
And then also these 2 videos about things BTS started and others followed.
youtube
youtube
So I can picture the dating thing going on this list. They've never been into fanservice much anyway to begin with and like u said, 2022 & 2023 was them reminding us they are adults. So high chances are when they come back they might be done pretending they don't use their private parts.
V was the first ever idol to somewhat publicly out his rlship. Yes, he later backtracked 🙄😒 but still, he will go down in History for having had the guts to do it in the first place. But damn this man has some shitty fans. Have y'all seen the reactions since the fri(end)s teaser came out? He may have the most fans out of all 7 but they are just horrible. Absolutely horrible. Jimin had so much support when he had a woman in his MV... Heck I don't even remember anyone giving JK shit for his female features but V.... gosh. Do these people even care about him?
Anyway. I digress.
Back to your question. I am not really a Kpop fan, just a BTS fan. So the only person I know is Taeyung. When we first found out Jimin was gonna do a song with him, people were calling him problematic. Turns out his only crime was getting married. That's literally his biggest scandal. Fucking SK, man. 🤦🏽♀️
This thing of idols treating fans as their girlfriends is super problematic. I imagine BTS realised that and stopped doing it the older they got. You bring up a good point; It's not just Jikook who will change when they get back, the other members too. Jikook will stop hiding, sure. But... I wonder which other members will do the same. Whatever the case, I'm all strapped in and ready for the ride.

Can we talk about more important things like jimin? I know it's been days but oh boy, his last live made me feel tingly inside. After weeks and weeks of radio silence I wasn't speculating much about his activities, but it's clear that he's been marinating something. I just can't help but giggle thinking of him sitting down like he always does, like he's 6ft 5 tall and his cock is way too heavy, and just analyzing frame by frame every little thing he did during Face era, and that's classic jimin but at the same time I feel like his demeanor changed yet again? Did anyone else feel The Vibes~? Were the super shy mimi days left behind and there's no need to hide behind Legos anymore? I loved to see that he was able to talk without feeling awkward, and loved to hear him talk about his need to change, gives me the feeling that he's gonna pick up from where he left off with set me free pt. 2. A couple of days ago I was doing some deep cleaning and I ended up going through his photobook again, I still can't believe the way he ATE that, every single concept? Insane. Would love to see him go further and keep exploring that side of him, I want to see and hear a brighter, happier jimin, maybe jimin in love, jimin in lust, so many things, why am I so greedy when it comes to him? Lol I can't help it.
That Most Important Thing: Jimin - The sequel. We can and should talk about him.
I did notice a different vibe. Right from the beginning. I don't know how to explain it, but it was as if he was less burdened, compared to the livestreams he did pre Face and during the promotions. The stress must have been really high back then.
Now, it's like he discovered what he has to do, he's doing it and feeling confident about it. Maybe it's an act, putting on a brave face, but to me, he just seemed more carefree. I've seen some reactions, people actually being worried about what he said about starting from scratch because of what the majority of us think it's related to that infamous encore. It might be, I hope it isn't, or that it didn't produce some long term effect on his self confidence. But to me it sounded like instead of wallowing, he picked himself up and went back to work.
Again, that doesn't mean he did a bad job with Face, far from it. We know it would be ridiculous to say that. It's one of the best kpop albums so far in 2023.
I love that it had coherence, a vision. Everything was interconnected and every single layer and element of the album was carefully crafted. Nothing was lacking. It wasn't like there were mediocre lyrics, but a good melody or vice versa. None of that.
The photofolio (again, he ate that. He did more than everybody) and the first album are an indication that he's on an interesting path. What I hope is to see an evolution, taking some steps further, more courage. Jimin plays it a bit on the safer side. He pushes it, but just enough. I want him to just push the limits bit by bit. Because he can and because there's potential.
I liked how you introduced his heavy dick in all that praise. Makes perfect sense in the context.

(Top Star News Reporter Hwang Seon-yong) BTS Jimin's fandom is expressing dissatisfaction with his agency. They have been pointing out problems with their agency for a long time, but since there is no feedback, they say they can no longer tolerate it. DC Inside BTS's Jimin Gallery and Twitter's Jimin General Team have been holding truck demonstrations since November 13th in front of Hive Co., Ltd.'s headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, securities companies, and broadcasting companies.
On the truck, “Is Hive the agency of BTS Jimin?”, “Hive is neglecting his duties by not renewing his contract”, “Please explain that Like Crazy did not receive RIAA platinum certification”, “Billboard top-selling song Nomi, please explain for ignoring request to restock single CD”, It contains phrases such as “Sue malicious comments and anti-gallery comments and protect the artist.”
In addition to the truck protest, fans' passionate comments are amplifying by issuing statements on Twitter.
The BTS Jimin Fan Association stated, "The title song 'Like Crazy' from Jimin's first mini-album 'FACE' was based on RIAA platinum certification for selling 1 million units in the U.S. last August, but has not yet been certified due to the agency's inadequate response. They are requesting RIAA Platinum certification for Like Crazy, saying, “We are not receiving the certification.”
“RIAA certification signifies the success of an album or single in the music industry, and the certification itself serves as a marketing tool to help drive sales and streaming. It can lead to more lucrative licensing deals, and as a certified hit, you are more likely to perform well. It allows for high fees and provides several advantages that strengthen the artist's profile. Unlike Japan's RIAJ, America's RIAA requires agency response in the form of paying a certain amount of money and receiving certification. In addition, ' Even though 'Like Crazy' was the first Korean solo artist to be nominated in the Top Selling Song category at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, the agency did not provide any support during the counting period, as local fans in the United States did not meet their demands for a single CD restock even after the first sold out. “It appears,” he said, raising his voice.
He also said, "The agency's helpless response to malicious comments and anti-sexual posts has also been pointed out. Due to these various problems, it can be said that Hive has revealed a lack of artist management ability, lack of marketing ability, and major loopholes in career management."
Through statements and truck demonstrations, he is demanding improved management and professional artist care, and is strongly calling for an official apology, explanation, and communication from those responsible. The fandom has been going through a difficult time due to the lack of management and poor care from the agency, so they are predicting a long-term battle, saying, ‘This time, we will go to the end.’ Attention is being paid to what kind of answer the agency will provide.
Below is the full statement from the BTS Jimin Fan Association: BTS Jimin Fan Association is your company, HYBE Co. We have raised the following issues with (Hive Co., Ltd.) for a long time, but have not received any feedback, so we are issuing this statement and strongly request your company's active and sincere implementation as soon as possible.
Like Crazy will be certified RIAA Platinum. "Jimin's first mini-album title song 'Like Crazy' last August became the first song by a KPOP solo artist released in 2023 to exceed 1 million units sold in the United States. Nevertheless, to this day, 'Like Crazy' RIAA Platinum certification for RIAA Platinum certification has not been submitted and is therefore unlisted. RIAA certification helps boost an artist's profile in the music industry and can provide a variety of benefits that can lead to lucrative licensing deals. Therefore, it is a worthy certification. “I ask for it.”
The separation of streaming totals for the Korean and English versions of Like Crazy Spotify will be explained. "On March 26, 2023, the title song 'Like Crazy' of Jimin's first mini album ranked first on Spotify's global chart. Afterwards, for unknown reasons, along with errors such as the song's credits being suddenly modified, The two versions of streaming have been separated. This will inevitably be detrimental to Spotify's global charts, Spotify's charts in each country, and year-end cumulative streaming statistics. Spotify said that this phenomenon occurred at the request of the agency. , we need an explanation from your company that fans can understand about this.
Explain and apologize for not restocking the Like Crazy US single CD. “The 'Like Crazy' single CD in the US has not been restocked after the first sale was sold out. This song was repeatedly predicted to be a candidate for the BBMA (Bill Board Music Awards) Top Selling Song category, and in fact became the first Korean solo artist to be nominated in that category. However, there was no support from your company to win the main award during the counting period, and local fans in the United States also continued to request resale, but your company did not even respond to this. “We demand an explanation and apology for this so that something like this never happens again.”
Take measures to protect artists. "It is the company's natural duty to protect its artists. We strongly demand that your company take aggressive legal action against the spread of false information and personal information leaks about Jimin in domestic online communities, SNS, YouTube, etc. In particular, DC Inside. The situation, which has not been resolved even though fans have been providing information about malicious comments made on , Nateboard, etc. for several years, is unbearable and difficult to understand. There is a high possibility that this problem will be exploited maliciously. Considering the impact this may have on the artist and fandom, we demand a strict response to this issue.”
We request your company's quick action and feedback regarding the above. 2023. 11. 12 All members of BTS Jimin’s fan union.

Jesus Armys are so embarrassing...
But then I look at other kpop stans are they look legit demented. Stupid and hive-minded doesn't even begin to cover it.
How have you survived in this fandom for ~10 years?
***
I mind my business, focus on my faves, watch Jimin fancams, and vibe to good music.
Which reminds me...
Zico's new track with Jennie isn't bad at all.
youtube
Zico once again shows he's one of the best artists k-pop has to offer, and Jennie can be amazing when she puts her mind to it and is in an environment where her talent can flourish. Also, someone sent me an ask about the How album from Zico's rookie group, BOYNEXTDOOR, as well. To that anon, your ask is buried somewhere in my inbox and I honestly can't find it so here's an abridged answer: I prefer the songs on Why to the songs on How, but How further establishes BND's sound identity and that's kind of impressive given how young the group is. Zico is doing an amazing job with them. My favourite song on the album is So Let's Go See the Stars.
Other good music I've been streaming recently is Bubble Gum by NewJeans.

I'm down for NewJeans' soundscape. It's effortless good music, which stands countercultural to the dominant characteristic of k-pop, where everything is valued according to the perceived effort expressed in it. It's why most of the music in this industry is maximalist, most of choreographies are elaborate, most of the styling and music videos are bombastic, etc. It's all about being as big and loud and 'impressive' as possible. And NewJeans is... kinda like the antithesis of that. It shouldn't work, they shouldn't be popular, and yet NewJeans/ADOR/MHJ is able to distill the essence they create into a format that can succeed in this industry.
They operate like an alien or foreign object in the k-pop system body. And like an infection in a body, the immune response is to counter it and eliminate it, or contain it so it can't threaten the system, and that's the response we've been seeing to NewJeans from the wider k-pop fandom and industry since NewJeans debuted in 2022.
Fast Company published an interview with Min Heejin three days ago and I suggest anyone interested in how she thinks, read it. I've linked it here. The interview was done in November 2023, so right when all the discord with HYBE was starting to escalate though there's no direct mention of that conflict in the interview. One of my top takeaways was to learn her favourite artist is Astrud Gilberto - who just happens to be my partner's favourite artist alongside Wynton Marsalis, so that was nice to see. MHJ mentions The Girl from Ipanema in the interview, so here it is for your reference:

Anon, you didn't ask for song recs but since I've already started, I'll end with Backslide by Twenty One Pilots that also came out a couple days ago, and Veridis Quo by Daft Punk because that just came up on my playlist.
Twenty One Pilots is right up there with Daft Punk when it comes to the most iconic duos in music, in my opinion. So yeah their music is on constant rotation. Here's a version of Veridis Quo as a mashup of Angèle and Daft Punk:

When ARMYs are being idiotic and the rest of k-pop fandom is self-immolating, the music makes it easy to ignore the noise.
